How to delete a schematic symbol from it's library

(Page name: sk1schsym-delss)

This is the first time I have ever explained anything so concisely!

I hope that "does it"?

If it does, thank Joan Sparky at forum.KiCad.info which is where I got my answer, and saw this great way of answering concisely. And also www.faststone.org for their screengrabber "Capture" which I am using for the first time, after doing hundreds of pages of tutorials with nothing more than Alt-PrintScreen and [[www.arunet.co.uk/tkboyd/hh6pho.htm Serif's PhotoPlus]].

If it doesn't, the pictures are trying to say…

To delete a schematic symbol

If you haven't already done so, open the Schematic Library Editor (aka the Part Library Editor)

If you haven't already done so, set the working library to the one that contains the copy of the schematic symbol you want to delete. (You may have several copies of that schematic symbol, spread across multiple libraries, of course.)

Click on the trash can to initiate the delete process.

Choose the schematic symbol you want to delete.

Click "OK".

What did you think of the "pictures" answer? (Please mention the page's name, "sk1schsym-delss", in your message.)
