Sigh.
On Nov 8, 2011, I was working in KiCadHowTo, and discovered I had something wrong.
Be careful when working with KiCad that keep pin and pad numbers and pin names clear in your mind.
I slipped up, and it cost me more than a day's work.
Mostly, you can "just use" KiCad. Probably.
If you are like me, you will want to understand what is going on, behind the scenes.
The struggle to attain that understanding will repay you in the long run.
The essay "Names and Numbers, Pins and Pads" is part of the result of noticing the mistake. Study that, if you don't want to get caught by what I was caught by.
I am now in the process of going through all of KiCadHowTo, looking for errors related to the "something wrong" I noticed November 8.
Some pages have a "stop press" at the top, warning you that the page may have errors in it.
Others have a short message, referring to the page you are reading now. Those pages have been reviewed and are, I hope, fixed in respect of what was wrong before November 8, 2011.
